FLOWERS, James, III, a Representative from Bucks County; born, 1803 in Middletown, Bucks County, Pa.; tanner, farmer; appointed, postmaster, United States Postal Service, Attleboro, Pa. (1829-1845); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1848); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1849; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1850); trustee, Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania (now, Drexel University College of Medicine); died, February 1, 1880 in Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Middletown Friends Cemetery, Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
