GRIFFITH, Abel M., a Representative from Bucks County; born, November 22, 1810 in New Britain, Bucks County, Pa.; served, Keystone Artillerists, Pennsylvania Militia (1838-1843); captain, Diller Artillerists, Pennsylvania Militia (1844-1846); studied law under Thomas Ross; lawyer (1836-1846); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1842 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1843 term; elected, council, Doylestown (1842-1843); vice president, Democratic State Convention (1843); died, September 10, 1848 in New Britain, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
