SMITH, Francis, a Representative from Bradford County; born, September 13, 1808 in New York; first lieutenant, Company B, 26th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); lawyer, elected as a Democrat in a Special Election, January 29, 1847 to serve the remaining 1847 term; reelected to the House for the 1848 term; died, November 25, 1868 in Troy, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
