WEBB, John Leland, a Representative from Bradford County; born, February 25, 1794 in Fairfield County, Ct.; contractor, North Branch Canal; justice of the peace, Ridgebury Township; elected, coroner, Bradford County (1827-1830); elected, commissioner, Bradford County (1830-1833); elected, sheriff, Bradford County (1833-1836); commissioner, Susquehanna Rail Road Company (1833); member, Democratic County Committee (1835-1842); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1846 and 1847 terms; died while a member, prior to taking the oath, October 17, 1846 in East Smithfield, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
