ROYER, John, a Representative from Cambria and Somerset Counties; born, November 22, 1778 in Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pa.; ironmaster; clerk and owner, Chambers' Iron Works; owner, Logan Furnace, Bellefonte, Pa. (1805); elected, commissioner, Franklin County (1806-1808); owner, Cove Forge, Huntingdon County (1810); owner, Springfield Furnace (1815): elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the1821-1822 term; engaged, salt manufacturing (1823-1826); proprietor, iron warehouse, Pittsburgh (1826-1829); agent, Pennsylvania and Ohio Transportation Co. (1829-1832, 1834-1844); elected, burgess, Johnstown (1840-1841); reelected as a Whig to the House for the 1842 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1843 term; died, March 5, 1850 in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania; interred, Grandview Cemetery, Southmont, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
