GEARHART, Jacob, a Representative from Northumberland County; born, March 17, 1793 in New Jersey; lawyer; justice of the peace; associate judge, Northumberland County (1834-1839); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1843 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1844 term; farmer; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1847); died, December 10, 1850 in Rush Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Vernon Cemetery, Riverside, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
