HORTON, Jesse C., a Representative from Northumberland County; born, May 1, 1797 in Forty Fort, Luzerne County, Pa.; served, New Jersey Militia (1814, War of 1812); co-owner, stagecoach company; mail coach carrier; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1841 term, not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1842 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1843-1846); director and stockholder, First National Bank of Sunbury; died, February 21, 1873 in Point Breeze, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
