SMITH, Samuel, a Representative from Allegheny County; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives for the 1856 term; appointed, steward, Marine Hospital (1857); appointed, member, Democratic Committee of Vigilance for the 22nd Congressional District (1858); appointed, public notary, Allegheny County (1876-1879).
