MILLER, John M., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, January 29, 1815 in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pa.; cabinet maker; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1850 and 1852 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1851 term; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Harmarville, Allegheny County (1851); unsuccessful campaign, common council, Allegheny City (1853); bookkeeper, Western Penitentiary (1865-1886); died, July 2, 1894 in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh), Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
