POTTS, George, a Representative from Butler County; born, May 8, 1806 in Butler County, Pa; brigadier general, Beaver and Butler Militia, Pennsylvania Militia (1830); elected, council, Hollidaysburg (1837-1838); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat to serve the 1840 term; appointed, weighmaster, Portage Road (1844-1860); elected, mayor, Altoona (1868-1872); died, December 10, 1872 in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hollidaysburg Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
