MORTON, William, a Representative from Beaver County; born, 1784 in County Fermanagh, Ireland; captain, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); colonel, 1st Brigade, 16th Division, Pennsylvania Militia (1821); cooper; farmer; elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 term; reelected to the House as a Whig for 3 more subsequent terms; elected, justice of the peace; elected, judge, Lawrence County (1851); died, July 3, 1851 in Perry Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania; interred, Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Ellwood City, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
