SPROTT, James, a Representative from Beaver County; born, September 8, 1799 in Beaver County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1838-1839 term; reelected to the House for the 1840 and 1841 terms; elected, State Senator, Iowa General Assembly (1848-1850); died, May 15, 1865 in Summitville, Lee County, Iowa; interred, Hickory Grove Cemetery, Summitville, Lee County, Iowa.
