LONG, David Barnes, a Representative from Clarion, Jefferson and Venango Counties; born, circa 1799; ironmaster; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1843 and 1844 terms; vice president, Sunbury and Erie Railroad (1845); chair, Clarion County Democratic Committee (1847); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1848); elected, associate judge, Clarion County (1851-1855); elected, prothonotary, Clarion County (1856-1860); died, July 16, 1860 in Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interred, Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
