McCARTNEY, Jacob Young, a Representative from Armstrong County; born, May 10, 1793 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania; proprietor, fulling mill (1820-1826); proprietor, grist mill (1826-1843); factory owner (1843); merchant; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1849 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1850 term; farmer; died, November 30, 1880 in Apollo, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverview Cemetery, Apollo, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
