EVANS, John Clarkson, a Representative from Berks County; born, June 22, 1805 in Churchtown, Lancaster County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1843, 1849, 1850, and 1851; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1856-1858); engaged, notions business, Philadelphia (1869-1878); died, February 5, 1879 in Morgantown, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Thomas Episcopal Church Cemetery, Morgantown, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
