BROWER, Dr. Daniel Henry Buckwalter, a Representative from Beaver, Butler and Lawerence Counties; born, September 29, 1814 in East Coventry Township, Chester County, Pa.; private, Company A, 13th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1862, Civil War); physician; elected, burgess, Prospect, Pa.; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1850 and 1851 terms; editor, Prospect Record (1853); owner, printer and editor, Montour American (1855-1864); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1868); owner and editor, Harrisburg State Journal (1870-1873); owner, printer and editor, Danville Medium (1871-1872); co-owner, The Mentor (1873-1874); editor, Danville Record (1876-1878); owner and editor, Danville News (1882); died, April 7, 1886 in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
