HARRIS, John R., a Representative from Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties; born, March 2, 1802 in Pennsylvania; farmer; merchant; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1847 term, reelected to the House for the 1852 and 1853 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1857-1859); died, April 18, 1874 in Harrisville, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
