BROUGH, John, a Representative from Adams County; born, February 20, 1799 in York County (now Adams County), Pa.; teamster, Pennsylvania Militia; elected, commissioner, Adams County (1833); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1845; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1846); died, May 4, 1873 in Hampton, Adams County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hampton Union Cemetery, Reading Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
