DOCK, Jacob, a Representative from Philadelphia City; born, September 12, 1800 in Pennsylvania; captain and quartermaster, 117th Regiment, 13th Volunteer Pennsylvania Cavalry (1861-1865, Civil War); merchant; proprietor, Bingham & Dock, goods transporters; elected as a Temperance American for the 1856 term; reelected to the House as a Republican for theĀ 1857 term; died, August 17, 1866 in Long Branch, Monmouth County, New Jersey; interred, Woodlands Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
