ZIMMERMAN, Jeremiah Hall, a Representative from Northumberland County; born, January 5, 1820 in Northumberland County, Pa.; sergeant, Company D, 3rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1862, Civil War); blacksmith; elected, auditor, Northumberland County (1852-1854); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1856 and 1857 terms; owner, J. H. Zimmerman & Son Carriage Works (1869-1893); elected, burgess, Shamokin (1870-1871,1876, 1884-1886); unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Northumberland County (1887); died, February 5, 1893 in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shamokin Cemetery, Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
