CHRISTY, Dr. Robert W., a Representative from Blair County; born, June 27, 1816 in Last Creek Valley, Juniata County, Pa.; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1841; surgeon, 168th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); physician; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1858 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1859 term; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1864, 1867); proprietor, drug store; died, June 14, 1873 in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hollidaysburg Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
