HOUTZ, Dr. Daniel, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, April 15, 1807 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania; attended, Milton Academy; M.D., Jefferson Medical College, 1832; physician and pharmacist; elected, school director, Alexandria, Pa. (1835); partner, Belle Seena Mills (1850-1851); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1858 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1859 term; elected, burgess, Alexandria (1859); died, September 20, 1873 in Alexandria, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery, Alexandria, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
