TURNER, Samuel G., a Representative from Luzerne County; born, March of 1819 in Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pa.; merchant and coal dealer; president, Shickshinny Coal and Iron Company; elected, delegate, State Democratic Convention (1849); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1854, 1858); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1858 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1869-1871); died, December 20, 1872 in Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hollenback Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
