GLATZ, Abraham Hiestand, a Representative from York County; born, 1835 in Pennsylvania; graduated, Princeton College (now Princeton University), 1854; brigadier general, Pennsylvania Militia; quartermaster, 16th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861, Civil War); farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1857 and 1858; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1859); charter member, Pennsylvania German Society; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1861-1868); trustee, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania) (1864-1867); died, December 28, 1894 in York, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Prospect Hill Cemetery, York, York County, Pennsylvania.
