SMITH, Clark S., a Representative from Adams and York Counties; born, May 30, 1912; A.B., Franklin and Marshall College, 1932; B.D., Eastern Theological Seminary, 1935; minister, United Church of Christ (1935-1950); teacher, York County schools (50 years); director of purchases, Gettysburg and Reaser Furniture factories (1950-1952); co-founder, Hanover-Made Furniture, Inc. and Dalewood Corporation (1952-1966); business manager, Hoffman Home for Children (1966-1974); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1973 term; appointed, Select Committee to Investigate the State Water Plan (1974); unsuccessful campaigns for reelection the House (1974, 1976); died, October 28, 2014 in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania; interred, Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
