CALHOUN, John K., a Representative from Armstrong, Clarion, Jefferson and Westmoreland Counties; born, February 26, 1825 in Wayne Township, Armstrong County, Pa.; captain, Company A, 22nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1862, Civil War); school teacher; lawyer (1850-1863); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House for Representatives for the 1857 and 1858 terms; editor, Armstrong Democrat (1862-1863); died, December 5, 1863 in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; interred, Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
