Voegtly & Co., cotton yarn manufacturers; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1857 and 1858 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1859 term; elected, director, Pennsylvania Insurance Company (1860); board member, Real Estate Savings Institution (1863); officer, Second National Bank of Allegheny (1867); died, May 6, 1881 in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh), Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Voegtly Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
