BARTHOLOMEW, Lin, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, July 24, 1845 in Brookville, Jefferson County, Pa.; attended, Pottsville Academy; sergeant major, 27th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); lawyer (1857-1880); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1861 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1862 term; appointed, aide-to-camp to Brigadier General Wynkoop (1861); appointed, private secretary to General Simon Cameron (1862); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1868, 1876, 1880); elected, delegate-at-large, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1872-1873); elected, Republican State Convention (1878); died, August, 22, 1880 in Atlantic City, Atlantic County, New Jersey; interred, Charles Baber Cemetery; Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
