CUSTER, Solomon L., a Representative from Berks County; born, May 15, 1812 in Amity, Berks County, Pa.; teacher; fruit farmer; elected, justice of the peace, Amity (1840-1865); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1858 and 1859; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1860); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1874); died, December 31, 1893 in Maidencreek Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Paul’s Church Cemetery, Amityville, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
