BYRNE, Peter J., a Representative from Luzerne County; born, 1805 in Ireland; lawyer (1841-1875); president, Luzerne County Democratic Convention (1852); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1860 and 1861 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1862 term; died, June 30, 1875 in Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery, Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
