HOFIUS, George D., a Representative from Mercer and Venango Counties; born, July 19, 1824 in Greenville, Mercer County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1859 and 1860; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1861); notary public; died, January 24, 1886 in Hickory, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
