LAWRENCE, William C. A., a Representative from Dauphin County; born, May 18, 1832 in Washington County, Pa.; graduated, Washington College (now Washington and Jefferson College), 1850; lawyer (1853-1860); partner, law office of John Crain Kunkle; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1857; reelected to the House as a Republican in 1858 and 1859; elected, Speaker (1859-1860); died while in office, April 21, 1860 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
