ROBINSON, Thomas, a Representative from Butler County; born, July 4, 1825 in Armagh County, Ireland; attended, Butler Academy; teacher (2 years); appointed, clerk, county commissioner’s office, Butler County (1854-1855); attorney (1855-1906); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1855); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1861 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1862 term; clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives 1863 and 1864; chair, Butler County Republican Committee (1863-1864); owner and editor, Butler Eagle (1870-1880); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1876-1877); unsuccessful reelection, Pennsylvania State Senate (1878); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1880); trustee, Slipper Rock State Normal School; superintendent, State Public Printing Department; died, June 23, 1906 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Side Cemetery, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
