DIVINS, William, a Representative from Clarion and Forest Counties; born, 1808 in Centre County, Pa.; farmer; elected, treasurer, Clarion County; notary; appointed, justice of the peace; elected, commissioner, Clarion County (1855); elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1861); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1861 and 1862 terms; died while in office, May 15, 1862 in Leatherwood, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Bethlehem Mennonite Church Cemetery, Leatherwood, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
