ELLIOTT, Simon Bolivar, a Representative from Potter and Tioga Counties; born, October 1, 1830 in Rome, Bradford County, Pa.; attended, Wellsboro Academy; stone mason; architect; elected, council recording secretary, Mansfield, Pa.; elected, burgess, Mansfield (1859-1860); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1861 and 1862 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1863 term; gubernatorial appointee, Pennsylvania State Forestry Commission (1904-1917); died, June 18, 1917 in Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania; interred, Reynoldsville Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.
