CRANE, Frederick M., a Representative from Wayne County; born, May 12, 1815 in Salisbury, Litchfield County, Ct.; teacher; elected, delegate, Vermont Democratic Convention (1835); lawyer (1838-1877); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Carbondale, Pa. (1843-1844); member, Wayne County Democratic Committee; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1854 term; reelected to the House for the 1862 term as a Union Democrat; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1855 or 1863 terms; unsuccessful campaign, judge, 22nd judicial district (1874); died, January 8, 1877 in Honesdale, Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
