ALEXANDER, James M., a Representative from Indiana County; born, January 18, 1814 in Pennsylvania; private, Company D, 57th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); railroad builder contractor; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1861 and 1862 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1863 term; railroad contractor, Pitts and Connellsville Railroad; died, August 2, 1871 in Blairsville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
