KENNEDY, Jesse, a Representative from Cumberland and Perry Counties; born, March 21, 1824 in Perry County, Pa.; farmer; sheep and wool farmer; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a People’s Party Republican in 1861; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1862); internal revenue collector; elected to the Iowa House of Representatives as a Republican in 1883; not a candidate for reelection to the Iowa House (1885); organizer, Iowa Texas Land Company; co-founder, town of Iowa Park, Tx.; died, August 18, 1908 in Iowa Park, Wichita County, Texas; interred, Highland Cemetery, Iowa Park, Wichita County, Texas.
