STROUSE, George Washington, Sr., a Representative from Juniata, Snyder and Union Counties; born in Mexico, Juniata County, Pa., March 16, 1821; farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1856 term; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1859); reelected to the House for the 1863 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1864 term; died, March 16, 1870 in Perryville, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
