RHOADS, John P., a Representative from Cumberland and Perry Counties; born, circa 1821; engaged, mercantile business; unsuccessful campaign, prothonotary, Cumberland County (1851); attorney (1856-1883); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1861 and 1862; cashier, First National Bank of Newville (12 years); elected, Newville school board (1869-1872); president, People’s Union Bank of Newville; died, October 3, 1883 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
