THOMPSON, Samuel C., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in 1812; shoe and boot maker; elected, recorder of deeds, Philadelphia County (1851-1852); gubernatorial appointee, sealer of weights and measures, Philadelphia County (1852-1855); proprietor, shoe store; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1862 and 1863 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1864 term.
