BEEBE, Manly Colton, a Representative from Mercer and Venango Counties; born, September 6, 1827 in Onondaga County, NY; teacher; engaged, pottery business; elected, justice of the peace; attorney-at-law; elected, school superintendent, Mercer County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1861 and 1862; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1863); elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1872-1873); elected, member, Pennsylvania State Board of Agriculture; elected, chair, Oil City Independent Republican Committee (1882); died, July 29, 1885 in Neptune, Monmouth County, New Jersey; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville, Venango County, Pennsylvania.
