HESS, Aaron, a Representative from Northampton County; born, June 11, 1811 in Columbia County, Pa.; shoemaker; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Upper Mount Bethel (1844); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representative for the 1862 and 1863 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1864 term; died, September 27, 1896 in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Union Cemetery, Stone Church, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
