BOWMAN, Dr. Henry B., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, November 10, 1804 in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pa.; physician; merchant; elected, recorder of deeds, Lancaster County (1849-1853); engaged, wool manufacturing; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1862 and as a Union Republican in 1863; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1864); nominated, Pennsylvania State Senate (1869); died, July 21, 1869 in Neffsville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
