ALEXANDER, William T., a Representative from Clarion and Forest Counties; born, circa 1812 in Centre County, Pa.; clerk; merchant; publisher and editor, Clarion Republican (1840-1844); publisher and editor, Clarion Democrat (1844-1865); elected, treasurer, Clarion County (1847, 1851, 1857); unsuccessful campaign, surveyor general, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (1857); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1863 and 1864 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1865 term; died, August 2, 1894 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interred, Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
