JACKSON, George Duggan, a Representative from Columbia, Montour, Sullivan and Wyoming Counties; born, April 16, 1827 in Berwick, Columbia County, Pa.; attended, Wyoming Seminary; merchant; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1859 and 1860 terms; reelected to the House for the 1863 and 1864 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1861 and 1865 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1867-1869, 1879); director, Sullivan and Erie Railroad; director, State Line and Sullivan Railroad; died while in office of the Senate, November 23, 1879 in Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.
