McCLELLAN, Dr. Robert Lawrence, a Representative from Chester County; born, October 20, 1822 in West Brandywine Township, Chester County, Pa.; graduated, Philadelphia College of Dental Surgery; dentist; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1861; reelected to the House in 1862 and 1863 (Union Republican); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1864); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1875-1876); died, February 5, 1889 in Cochranville, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Upper Octorara Church Cemetery, Parkesburg, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
