BARNETT, Charles A., a Representative from Perry County; born, December 31, 1829 in New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pa.; graduated, Marshall College, Mechanicsburg (now Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster), 1853; teacher; principal, New Bloomfield Academy; attorney (1857-1917); elected as a Union Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1863; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1864); appointed, register in bankruptcy; elected, president judge, 41st judicial district, Perry and Juniata Counties (1881-1891); died, January 30, 1917 in New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bloomfield Cemetery, New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
