RICE, Owen, Jr., a Representative from Northampton County; born, October 6, 1836 in Lititz, Lancaster County, Pa.; attended, Nazareth Hall, Bethlehem, Pa.; attended, Nazareth Theological Seminary; captain, Company A, 153rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1863, Civil War); teacher, Nazareth Hall; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1864 and 1865 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1866 term; proprietor, drugstore; civil engineer; railroad surveyor; railroad ticket agent; died, April 28, 1892 in Rome, Floyd County, Indiana.
