ALLEMAN, Samuel, a Representative from Lycoming, Snyder and Union Counties; born, May 2, 1818 in Maytown, Lancaster County, Pa.; graduated, Gettysburg College, 1841; teacher; lawyer (1845-1847, 1857-1881); chief clerk, State Department of Pennsylvania (1846); sheriff’s clerk and deputy, Harrisburg; druggist; superintendent of schools, Snyder County (1860); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1865 term, not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1866 term; died, February 28, 1881 in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania; interred, Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
